I am down with going somewhere other then "dinner & a movie" for a typical first date. Something different/out of the ordinary is always a nice change!

a candlelight dinner would be so sweet or a pick nick on a private ground and a long walk on the beach afterwards or a swim could also be nice , after the swing or walk to sit on the beach and see the sun go down slowly
Going for a coffee or to the cinema is cool as a first date but so cliché and might be boring(Depending on who accompanied you) but I am waiting for that date that will make the difference.. I am waiting for THE date more>>

Like I said, it depends, if you would prefer a romantic walk on the beach, we may not have a beach here but I can think of something, Each date will be tailored to what best fits the time.
